¶2The instant writ petition has been filed challenging the notification dated

23.02.2016 whereby it was stipulated that there would be enhancement of the rate of profit margin of GPSS/Societies & FP shops at Rs.143/- per quintal in the ratio of 70 : 30 (Rs.100.10/- per quintal to FP shop and Rs.42.90/- per quintal to GPSS/Co-operative Societies) w.e.f. 01.12.2015.

¶3It has been brought to the attention of this Court by the learned Senior Government Advocate that this notification no longer exists inasmuch as the Government of Assam through a cabinet decision had granted the benefit of the entire Rs.143/- to the fair price shops which is now being followed.

¶4Taking into account the above, this Court therefore dismisses the instant writ petition as it has become infructuous.
