National Insurance Co. Ltd v. Karuna Barman and Anr

ORDER Date : 11.05.2024 The case is put up before the National Lok Adalat today. The Insurance Company who is the appellant in this case is represented by its Regional Manager Ms. Mary Pegu. The respondent/claimant Sri Karuna Barman is personally present before the Court today. This case is settled between the parties at an amount of Rs.1,40,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Forty Thousand), out of which the Insurance Company has already paid an amount of Rs.25,000/-. In view of the amicable settlement reached between the parties, the appellant Insurance Company is directed to pay the remaining amount of Rs.1,15,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifteen Thousand) to the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this order. On such deposit, the Registry shall disburse the said amount to the claimant Sri Karuna Barman after proper verification of his identity as well as verification of his bank details. With this observation, this case is accordingly disposed of.
