24.04.2024. None appears for the petitioner on call. Ms. G. Hazarika, learned standing counsel for the Revenue Department is present for the respondent No.1, Mr. J. Handique, learned Government Advocate, Assam for respondent Nos.2 & 3 and Mr. C. Baruah, learned counsel is present for the respondent No.4. It is noticed that on the last two consecutive occasions, the petitioner remains unrepresented. The matter relates to claim for additional compensation for the land of the petitioner measuring 2 Kathas 2 Lechas covered by Dag No.123, K.P. Patta No.56 of village Silamahakhaiti of Mouza Silasindurighopa in Kamrup District, under the National Highway Act, 1956. The land owner was already paid the compensation for the boundary wall, gate, culvert, shed, trees, etc. Considering that the matter is pending since 2016, it appears that either the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed or the petitioner is not interested in pursuing the present Writ Petition.
