Heard Ms. S.B. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. D.P. Bora, learned standing counsel Health Department for respondent Nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4; Mr. A. Hassan, learned standing counsel, Accountant General, for respondent No. 5 and Ms. U. Sarma, learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of respondent No. 6. The husband of the petitioner, namely, Saliqur Raja Choudhury while serving as the Vaccinator under the establishment of the Chief Medical & Health Officer, Karimganj, died-in-harness on 27-08-2004. Thereafter, the petitioner made an application in prescribed format praying for appointment on compassionate ground on 04-04-2005. As the case of the petitioner was not considered by the concerned District Level Committee (DLC), she approached this Court by filing WP(C) No. 7909/2022, which was disposed of by order dated 09-12-2022 directing the Joint Director of Health Services, Karimganj to place the application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment before the next available DLC of Karimganj district. Thereafter, the DLC, Karimganj considered the case of the petitioner on 06-02-2023 and recommended her for appointment in Grade-IV post. Page No.# 3/3 The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that despite the DLC making recommendation on 06-02-2023, her case is yet to be placed before the State Level Committee (SLC). Considering the limited prayer involved, this writ petition is disposed of directing the SLC to consider the case of the petitioner in its next immediate sitting, if not already considered. If the case of the petitioner has already been considered by the SLC, the outcome of such consideration shall be intimated to the petitioner forthwith.
