Mrs Geeta Bora v. Sri Pankaj Phukan and 2 Ors

ORDER Date : 04-03-2024 Heard Mr. P. Neog, learned counsel for the appellant. I have also heard Mr. V. K. Barooah, learned counsel for the respondent No. 3/Insurance Company. It is submitted at the bar that the matter has already been settled between the parties before the Lok Adalat for payment of compensation amount of Rs. 28,75,000/-. In compliance of the settlement before the Lok Adalat, the respondent no. 3/ Insurance Company has undertaken to deposit the settlement amount of Rs. 28,75,000/- before the Registry of this Court within 30 days from today, to which the learned counsel for the respondent No. 3, has no objection. In view of the above, the appellant shall deposit the settled amount of Rs. 28,75,000/- before the Registry of this Court within 30 days from today.

On such deposit made by the respondent no. 3, the applicant/Respondent(claimant) shall be allowed to withdraw the same on proper verification and identified by their learned counsel. In view of the above, this appeal stands disposed of. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
