ORDER

02.05.2024. None appears for the petitioner on call whereas Shri CS Hazarika, learned State Counsel, Assam and Shri P Handique, learned counsel representing the Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department, Assam are present. This Court has noticed that there has been continuous non-appearance on behalf of the petitioner and on the last date i.e. 30.04.2024, the following order was passed:

"None appears for the petitioner on call whereas Ms. J. Bora, learned counsel representing the P & RD Department is present. A similar situation was there on the last occasion also when the matter was listed on 22.02.2024. In the interest of justice, a further opportunity is granted to the petitioner to make representation. List this case on 02.05.2024. It is however made clear that in case of further non-representation, this Court would pass appropriate orders as this matter is of the year 2013."

In view of the aforesaid situation, this Court is left with no other alternative but to dismiss this petition for want of prosecution. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed for want of prosecution.
