The United India Insurance Co. Ltd v. Mariya Begum and 4 Ors

ORDER Date : 11.05.2024 The case is put up before the National Lok Adalat. The appellant, United India Insurance Company Limited is represented by Mr. A. Munin Chowdhury, Regional Manager of the said Company. The claimant/respondent Smt. Mariya Begum is also present before the Court. The original award in this case was of Rs. 10,36,320/- and out of which Rs. 5,18,160/- has already been deposited by the Insurance Company. Now the matter has been mutually settled between the parties on the terms that the Insurance Company shall pay remaining amount of Rs. 5,00,000/- to the claimant/respondent. Page No.# 3/3 Considering the settlement reached between the parties, the respondent Insurance Company is directed to deposit the settled amount of Rs. 5,00,000/- to the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this order and on such deposit, the Registry shall disburse the said amount to the claimant on proper verification of their identity as well as verification of their bank details. The statutory deposit, if any, deposited by the appellant, may be returned back to the appellant by the Registry of this Court. With above observation, this case is disposed of.
