United India Insurance Company Ltd v. Mamata Baruah and 3 Ors

ORDER Date : 11.05.2024 The case is put up before the National Lok Adalat. The appellant, United India Insurance Company Limited is represented by Mr. A. Munin Chowdhury, Regional Manager of the said Company. The respondent/claimant Smt. Mamata Baruah and Ms. Baby Baruah are also present. The matter has been amicably settled between the parties at an amount of Rs. 50,00,000/-. Out of the settled amount Rs. 35,98,686/- has already been deposited by the Insurance Company to the Registry of this Court. In view of the settlement arrived at the remaining amount of Rs. 14,01,314/- shall be deposited by the appellant Insurance Company to the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days of this order and on such Page No.# 3/3 deposit, the Registry shall disburse the same amount to the claimants on proper verification of their identity as well as verification of their bank details. The statutory deposit, if any, deposited by the appellant, may be returned back to the appellant by the Registry of this Court. With above observation, this case is disposed of.
