ORDER Date : 21-03-2024 Heard Mr. N.N. Jha, learned counsel for the applicant-appellant and Mr. M.P. Goswami, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State. The learned counsel for the applicant-appellant has preferred this application praying for impleadment of 'Union of India, represented by Senior Intelligence officer, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Guwahati Zonal Unit' as respondent no. 2 in Bail Appln. No. 4436/2023. It appears from the records that the case bearing no. NDPS Case no. 91/2018, pending in the Court of learned Sessions judge No. 1, Kamrup (M), Guwahati, has arisen out of D.R.I. Case no. 03/CL/NDPS/GANJA/DRI/GZU/ 2018-19 under Section 20(c)/29 of the NDPS Act. In view of the above, DRI is a necessary party to consider the above prayer of the applicant-appellant. The Union of India, represented by Senior Intelligence officer, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Guwahati Zonal Unit, Guwahati, be impleaded as respondent no. 2 in Bail Appln. No. 4436/2023.
