ORDER 27-05-2024 Mr. U. Ghosh, learned counsel, who appears on behalf of Mr. D. P. Borah, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that contempt petition has been filed Page No.# 2/2 for non-compliance of the Court's order dated 17.09.2021 passed in WP(C) No. 2668/2021. Perusal of the said order goes to show that the petitioner was given liberty to file a representation as prayed for by him for fresh consideration. It was further directed that if such representation was filed by the petitioner the same should be considered by the respondent concerned. The order of termination of the petitioner which he rendered as Gaon Panchayat Coordinator (GPC) on contract basis was not interfered with. Today, Mr. U. Sarma, learned counsel for the respondent no. 2 has produced an order dated 05.02.2024 which goes to show that the representation filed by the petitioner on 24.08.2023 pursuant to the order of this Court was considered and disposed of. The order indicates that the Department has not taken any steps for recruitment for the post of GPC at this stage and that the petitioner would be at liberty to participate as and when such recruitment process is initiated by the Department depending on requirement. In view of the above, the order of this Court having been complied with, the contempt petition is closed. Order dated 05.02.2024 produced by the learned counsel shall be kept on record and marked as "X" for identification.
