02.04.2024 Heard Shri S. Chakraborty, learned counsel for the applicant / writ petitioner, who by means of this application has prayed for impleadment of the Punjab National Bank and its officials in the connected WP(C)/8428/2018. It is submitted that though the initial dispute was against the United Bank of India and its officials, the said Bank has merged with the Punjab National Bank and therefore there is requirement to implead the Punjab National Bank and its officials.

¶2Shri S. Dutta, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Ms. S. Musahary, learned counsel is present for the respondent – Bank and does not object to the same.

¶3Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances, the instant application is allowed by adding the "Punjab National Bank (represented by Managing Director & CEO) having its Head Office at Plot No. 4, Sector-10, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075" as the respondent no. 6. The other respondents, who are sought to be impleaded, though said to be officials of Punjab National Bank have not been properly described and therefore the impleadment is restricted to Punjab National Bank.

¶4Shri Chakraborty, learned counsel has also submitted that the impleadment of the Punjab National Bank as the main party respondent would serve the purpose.

¶5The application accordingly stands disposed of.
