Heard Mr. R. Majumdar, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. A. Chetri, learned counsel for the respondent Nos. 2 & 3 and Mr. P.J. Phukan, learned counsel for the Gauhati University.

¶2This is an application for impleadment of the Gauhati University as party respondent No.5 in WP(C) No.1583/2020.

¶3It appears from the averments made in the impleading application that the applicant was granted study leave by his employer for major part of his LLB course and he was in shift duties for which he was able to attend his classes at the Gauhati University and as he had more than the minimum attendance, he was allowed to appear in each semester of LLB regular course by the Gauhati University. It appears that Gauhati Univerisity is a necessary party for effective adjudication of WP(C) No.1583/2020. Page No.# 3/3

¶4Accordingly, the impleadment sought for by way of this Interlocutory Application stands allowed.

¶5Resultantly, the Gauhati University is directed to be impleaded as party respondent No.5 in WP(C) No.1583/2020. Amended cause title be furnished to the office of the Registry of this Court for doing the needful.

¶6The I.A. is accordingly disposed of.
