The case of the prosecution in brief is that on 18.02.2024, an FIR was lodged alleging inter-alia that on 17.02.2024, on specific information that some accused persons coming towards Gauripur with suspected fake notes, a search operation was conducted wherein a white colour Wagonr vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-16G-9680 which was coming from Alomganj to Dhubri was stopped by signal. He further submits that the petitioner is totally innocent and has no involvement in the offence alleged. Mr. D. Das, learned Additional Public Prosecutor on the other hand strongly opposes the prayer for Anticipatory Bail. He submits that from the statements of the seizure witnesses recorded under Section 161 Cr.P.C, it appears that the petitioner along with two other persons are actively involved in fake currency business. He further submits that the investigation has substantially progressed. I have heard the submissions made at the bar and perused the materials Page No.# 3/4 available on record. It appears from the materials available in the case diary that the FSL report dated 06.03.2024 issued by the Directorate of Forensic Science, Kahilipara indicates that the seized notes of denomination of Rs. 500/-are genuine Indian Currency Notes.
