ORDER

22.01.2024 Heard Mr. M. U. Mondal, learned counsel for the petitioner. Perused the averments made in the writ petition. The father of the writ petitioner, who was serving as a Gram Sevak in the Nayeralga Development Block in the District of Dhubri, died in harness on

08.08.2015. After the demise of the sole bread earner of the family, the petitioner, being his son, had submitted an application on 31.0-8.2015 seeking compassionate appointment against a Grade-III post. The application submitted by the petitioner was also duly recommended by the DLC on

14.02.2023 for appointment against a Grade-III post. The grievance of the petitioner is that the State Level Scrutiny Committee (SLSC) is yet to take a decision on the said recommendation as a result of which, there has been undue delay in the matter. Page No.# 3/3 On instruction obtained by him, Mr. A. Chakraborty, learned Govt. Advocate, Assam appearing for the official respondents submits that the recommendation made in favour of the petitioner will be duly considered by the SLSC as and when the meeting is convened. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merit of the claim made by the petitioner, this writ petition stands disposed of by providing that the case of the petitioner be placed for consideration before the SLSC in its next meeting and a decision be taken in the matter, in accordance with law. A copy of this order be furnished to the concerned authority for doing the needful. Writ petition stands disposed of.
