Judgment

ORDER Date : 09-12-2024 None appears for the petitioner on call. By filing this application, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondent authorities for grant of Rs.2 lakhs (Rupees two lakh) to the petitioner on account of death of her father in terms of the policy of the State vide notification dated 15.11.2014, whereby, it provides inter alia, for payment of ex-gratia to the next of kin of person killed due to accident in public places or in public carriers (other than killed by extremist/terrorist/miscreants and due to firing of security forces). Mr. A. Bhattacharjee as well as Mr. S.R. Barua, learned State counsels by placing the instruction submits that the petitioner has already been paid the ex-gratia for two persons amounting to Rs.4 lakhs(Rupees four lakh), which has already been credited in the Account Number of Federal Bank of the petitioner being Account No.20020100015696 on 04.06.2022. Having considered the submission and also on perusal of the instruction as placed by the learned State counsel, the matter appears to be infructuous as the petitioner has already been received the amount as prayed for. In view of the above, the writ petition stands closed as infructuous. A copy of the communication dated 11.07.2023 is kept on record and marked as document "X". JUDGE Comparing Assistant
