Ram Naresh Chouhan v. The State of Assam

ORDER Date : 15.02.2024 (M.K. Kalita, J) Heard Mr. N. Deka, learned counsel for the appellant. Also heard Mr. K. Baishya, learned Additional Public Prosecutor. By order dated 23.01.2024, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor was Page No.# 2/2 requested to submit a report regarding the fact of death of the appellant Ram Naresh Chouhan. Today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced a copy of an Enquiry Report dated 08.02.2024 by the Officer-in-Charge, Kheroni P.S., West Karbi Anglong supported by the death certificate of appellant Ram Naresh Chouhan. On perusal of the same, it appears that the appellant Ram Naresh Chouhan has expired on 22.12.2023. In view of the demise of the appellant, this appeal stands abated. The report produced by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor is kept as a part of record.
