Heard Ms. L. Devi, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. S. Bora, learned counsel for the respondent. By filing this application, the applicant has prayed for impleadment of Sri Mrigen Sarania, Mayor, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) as respondent No.2 in the connected Cont.Cas(C) Page No.# 2/2 No.777/2022. On 29.01.2024, this Court granted liberty to the petitioner to implead Sri Mrigen Sarania, Mayor, GMC as respondent in the contempt case. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and considering that the decision of the Mayor in council is coming in the way of implementation of the Court's order and the fact that this Court granted liberty to the petitioner to implead the above person as respondent, I deem it appropriate to allow the application. Accordingly, Sri Mrigen Sarania, Mayor, GMC, Uzan Bazar, Guwahati is allowed to be impleaded as respondent No.2 in the connected Cont.Cas(C) No.777/2022. Accordingly, the I.A. stands allowed and disposed of.
