ORDER Date : 09-02-2024 Heard Mr. N. Borah, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. SK Medhi, learned standing counsel for the Accountant General as well as Mr. B. Kaushik, learned standing counsel for the Elementary Education Department.

¶2The grievance raised by the petitioner pertains to the unauthorized deductions affected in his GPF account bearing no.PED-237078. This Court had required the respondents to place before this Court the reason as to why unauthorized deductions were affected from the GPF account of the petitioner.

¶3Mr. SK Medhi, learned standing counsel, AG, Assam has submitted that in terms of the instructions received by him it was due to an error occasioning in recording the GPF number of one Jogen Chandra Gogoi, retired Assistant Teacher of Gergeri LP School, Dhemaji and the reflection in the pension papers of the said teacher the GPF number of the petitioner, that the deductions came to be so made from the GPF account of the petitioner. However, on detection of the said anomaly the same has been rectified and the amounts deducted along with the missing credits in the GPF account of the petitioner were recredited. It has also been brought to the notice of the Court that the GPF statements after such rectification has been effected, has been sent to the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Dhemaji. In view of the said position, the grievance as raised by the petitioner in the present proceedings does not survive for adjudication.

¶4Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. Page No.# 4/4

¶5Mr. SK Medhi, learned standing counsel, AG, Assam shall provide to the learned counsel for the petitioner a copy of the instructions dated

08.02.2024 received by him along with the annexures thereto.

¶6In the event, there exist any missing entry in the statements of the GPF account statement of the petitioner, the petitioner is at liberty to bring the same to the notice of the authorities for rectification.
