Heard Mr. M. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. B. Gogoi, learned counsel for the PWD.

¶2The petitioner's counsel submits that the petitioner's contractual dues amounting to Rs. 18,14,331/- has not been paid by the respondents.

¶3Mr. B. Gogoi, learned counsel for the PWD submits that as per the instructions received by him, the admitted liability payable to the petitioner by the Public Works Department, Mangaldai and Dolgaon Territorial Road Division is Rs. 9,58,405/-. In respect of the admitted amount payable to the petitioner on the part of the Udalguri (R&B) Division, PWD is Rs. 8,00,331/-, in terms of letter No. URBD/CC/2019/2087 dated 25.07.2024, issued by the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division, Udalguri.

¶4In view of the State respondents in the PWD of Mangaldai and Dolgaon Territorial Road Division and Udalguri (R&B) Division, having admitted that Rs. 9,58,405/- + Rs. 8,00,331/-, totalling Rs.17,58,736/- is payable to the petitioner, the respondents are directed to pay the admitted amount to the petitioner, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this Page No.# 3/3 order.

¶5The petitioner is given the liberty to approach the appropriate forum with regard to non-payment of his other dues, as per law.

¶6The letter dated 25.07.2024 issued by the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Division, Udalguri is made a part of the record and marked as Annexure-X.

¶7This writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
