The present contempt petition has been filed alleging non-compliance of the order dated 08.05.2024 passed in WP(C)No.2342/2024.

¶2It is seen from the order dated 08.05.2024 passed by this Court that the respondent No.7 was directed to dispose of the Land Complaint Case No.4/2022 by passing a speaking order within a period of 2(two) months after service of notice and after affording due opportunities to all the stakeholders including the petitioners and the respondent Nos.10-14.

¶3It is seen from the affidavit-in-opposition filed by the respondents that pursuant to the order dated 08.05.2024 passed by this Court, an order has been passed on 14.08.2024 by the Joint Secretary cum Cala, Department of Revenue, KAAC, Diphu. Taking into account the order dated 14.08.2024, passed by the Joint Secretary cum Cala, Department of Revenue, KAAC, this Court is of the opinion that the order dated 08.05.2024 in WP(C)No.2342/2024 has been duly complied with, for which, the instant contempt proceedings stands dropped.

¶4Mr. P Bordoloi, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submitted that the said order had been passed without hearing the petitioners. In the opinion of this Court that the said issue would be a separate cause of action, for which, the petitioners would be required to challenge the order dated

14.08.2024 as per the extant provisions of law.

¶5Contempt petition, accordingly, stands disposed of.
