Heard Mr. S.K. Goswami, learned counsel for the applicant.

¶2This interlocutory application, under Section 173 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, is preferred by the applicant, Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., for staying the operation of the judgment and award dated 07.06.2024, passed by the learned Member, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Kamrup(M), Guwahati, in M.A.C. Case No. 587/2018. 3 It appears that the connected appeal has already been admitted and the record has also been called for from the learned Tribunal.

¶4Mr. Goswami submits that the applicant is willing to deposit a sum of Rs. 20,00,000/-.

¶5Accordingly, it is provided that the applicant shall deposit a sum of Rs. 20,00,000/- before the Registry of this Court within a period of four weeks from today.

¶6In view of the above, this interlocutory application is allowed and the operation of the judgment and award dated 07.06.2024 stands stayed.
