Judgment
ORDER Date : 21.08.2024
Heard Mr. R. M. Deka, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. D. Page No.# 2/3 Gogoi, learned standing counsel, Assam Agricultural University for the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 and Mr. P. J. Phukan, learned standing counsel, Gauhati University for the respondent No.3. By this application, the applicant who is the writ petitioner in WP(C)/4210/2024 is praying for correction of a typographical error that has crept into the order dated 20.08.2024, passed in WP(C)/4210/2024. The learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant had applied for the post of Associate Professor in the discipline of Aquatic Environment Management and not Assistant Professor. However, in the order dated 20.08.2024, the respondents were directed to permit the petitioner/ applicant to appear for the post of Assistant Professor in the discipline of Aquatic Environment Management scheduled to be held on 22.08.2024 instead of Associate Professor. Mr. D. Gogoi, learned standing counsel, Assam Agricultural University submits that he has no objection for the correction of the typographical error in the order dated 20.08.2024. He however submits that no date has been fixed for the interview of the Associate Professor in the discipline of Aquatic Environment Management and therefore, the respondents may be directed to permit the petitioner to appear for the said interview as and when the date is fixed. This Court after considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties and also on perusal of the records of the Writ Petition No. 4210/2024 is of the considered opinion that a typographical error has crept into the order dated 20.08.2024. Accordingly, the interim order passed on
20.08.2024 is modified as under: "In the interim, the respondents are directed to permit the petitioner to Page No.# 3/3 appear for the post of Associate Professor in the discipline of Aquatic Environment Management as and when the respondents fixes a date for interview for the said post. However, the result of the petitioner shall not be declared without the leave of this Court". I.A. is disposed of.
