ORDER
16.05.2024 Heard Ms K Deka, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Ms R Devi, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr K P Pathak, learned Standing Counsel, appearing on behalf of the APDCL.
¶2By way of this instant petition, the writ petitioner has been seeking restoration of electricity connection to the petitioner's business premises situated at Village-Tumuki, under Sonitpur District.
¶3Today, when the matter has been called, Mr K P Pathak, learned Standing Counsel, APDCL, submits a correspondence received from the APDCL authorities vide e-mail dated 15th May, 2024, indicating that pursuant to the direction of this Court by order dated 15.12.2020, to take steps to ensure that electricity connection to the petitioner's subject premises is restored, efforts accordingly were made. However, it appears that the previous connection in the name of the writ petitioner, namely, Mridul Adityam (094000033461) was permanently disconnected and dismantled on 18.11.2020. It further appears that the petitioner was not found in the said premises, and as such, the APDCL authorities could not restore the electricity connection. It further appears that another connection in the name of Ritakar Sutradhar (094010062986) is being served in the same premises, which was obtained as new service connection on 28.04.2021. It further Page No.# 3/3 appears that the petitioner is not residing in the said premises presently.
¶4In view of the aforesaid correspondence placed before this Court on behalf of the APDCL authorities, which manifestly indicates that the petitioner is not residing in the subject premises and in fact, electricity connection to the subject premises has already been granted to the person, who is residing therein, nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition.
¶5In view of the above, this Court is of the considered opinion, that this writ petition stands disposed of on being infructuous.
¶6A copy of the said correspondence dated 15th May, 2024, is kept on record and marked as 'X'.
