¶1Heard Ms. S. Khanikar, learned counsel for the petitioners, who submits that she needs time to obtain instructions from her client as to whether the amount claimed, i.e. Rs.23,34,365/- has been paid to the petitioner.

¶2Mr. K. Gogoi, learned counsel for the Higher Education Department Page No.# 3/4 submits that the amount of Rs.23,34,365/- has been paid to the petitioner, as informed vide letter no.TE(E)L-07/2024/602 dated 24.04.2024 issued by the Director of Technical Education, Assam.

¶3The operative portion of the letter dated 24.04.2024 issued by the Director of Technical Education, Assam is reproduced below, as follows : "Sub : Submission of Instruction in WP(C) No.5275/2020 (M/S Ranel Associates & Anr-Vs-The State of Assam & Ors) Madam, With reference to the subject cited above, I am to submit as below: An amount of Rs. 23,34,365 (Rupees Twenty Three Lakh Thirty Four Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Five) Only has been already paid to the Petitioner, M/S Ranel Associates, Dr. B. Baruah Road, Guwahati - 781007 for the work of Consultancy Service for Establishment of New Engineering College at Golaghat under SOPD - ODS during the Year 2021-22, Vide –

¶4Indian Bank (Guwahati Panbazar Branch) A/C No. CA 20217975734 (RANEL ASSOCIATES) [Annexure-IV] In view of the above, you are requested for taking necessary steps for closure of the aforesaid Writ Petition. This is for favour of kind information and needful action."

¶4I have perused the letter dated 24.04.2024 issued by the Director of Technical Education, Assam which has given the particulars regarding payment of Rs.23,34,365/- to the petitioner.

¶5On account of the above letter dated 24.04.2024, this Court finds that the present writ petition has become infructuous.

¶6Accordingly, the writ petition is closed as infructuous.
