ORDER Date : 04-03-2024 This court by its order dated 02.06.2022 passed in WP(C) No.5753/2021 directed the sole respondent i.e., the Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam Revenue (Relief and Rehabilitation) Disaster Management to dispose of the representation of the petitioner relating to release of ex-gratia grant in terms of government notification dated 15.11.2014. Page No.# 2/2 The learned counsel for the sole respondent has produced the sanction order which shows that an amount of Rs.2,00,000 as ex-gratia grant in the name of the petitioner has been made and the sanction order further reflects that the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district is to release the said amount. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has specific instructions that though the amount has been sanctioned but no money has been disbursed to the petitioner. The standing counsel Revenue and Disaster Management Department submits that the amount so sanctioned has been transferred to the concerned treasury. This court expects that as due sanction has already been granted and submission has also been made on behalf of the Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO DDMA, Kamrup, Amingaon that money has already been transferred to the Treasury Office, therefore, Treasury officer shall release the amount at the earliest. In the event, if such payment is still not made, the petitioner can approach this court for reopening the contempt case. In view of the above, the contempt petition stands closed. The instructions so furnished is kept on record and marked as document 'X' and 'Y'.
