Karuna Kanta Gogoi v. The State of Assam

Heard Ms. P Borah, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. R J Baruah, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam. Both these applications are filed under Sections 483 of the BNSS,2023 praying for grant of regular bail in respect of Duliajan P.S. Case No. 145/2024 by the petitioners, namely, Sri Karuna Kanta Gogoi and Ms. Dipshikha Hazarika. The allegations made against these petitioners are that for the purpose of sanctioning loan to self help group, sponsored by the government, the petitioners had misappropriated huge amount of money. From the perusal of the Case Dairy, it appears that there are sufficient incriminating materials against the present petitioners. Therefore, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected. Accordingly, the bail applications are dismissed and disposed of.
