This contempt petition is filed by the petitioners alleging non-compliance of the order passed by this Court on 13/09/2022 in Writ Appeal No. 60/2022. Vide order dated 13/09/2022, the Division Bench of this Court has directed the respondent to decide the representation to be filed by the appellants regarding payment of 50% of the remaining compensation within a period of 3 (three) months from the date of receipt of the order dated 13/09/2022 along with the representation. Learned counsel for the respondent has produced a copy of the communication dated 11/02/2024 issued by the Assistant District Commissioner, Cachar, Silchar, wherein, it is mentioned that the representation filed by the appellants has already been finally decided. Copy of the communication dated 11/02/2024 is taken on record. In view of the fact that the representation filed by the petitioners has already been decided, we are of the view that substantial compliance of the order passed by this Court has already been made. Hence, no further order is required to be passed in this case. Claim is, therefore, disposed of. Notice is discharged. Page No.# 4/4 However, if the petitioners are aggrieved by the decision of the authority concerned of deciding their representation, they are free to avail appropriate remedy available to them under the law.
