Heard Mr. I.H. Saikia, learned counsel for the writ petitioner. The writ petition is preferred against the order dated 23/09/2024, by means of which, the concerned Circle Officer had appointed the respondent no. 6 herein i.e. Mr. Jil Hoque as the Gaon Pradhan of Charge No. 12 of Baghbor Revenue Circle, by ignoring the interim order of status quo passed by this Court on 22/02/2023. Taking note of the pendency of the appeal preferred by the petitioner before the departmental appellate authority, this writ petition was posted for instruction, to be obtained by the learned Government Advocate. Today, when the matter is called up, Ms. M. Bhattacharjee, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate, Assam, has produced a copy of the order dated 24/09/2024, issued by the Circle Officer, Baghbor Revenue Circle, Mandia, which goes to show that the order dated 23/09/2024 has already been cancelled. If that be so, no live issue survives in this writ petition for adjudication by Page No.# 3/3 this Court. As such, by retaining a copy of the order dated 24/09/2024, this writ petition stands closed.
