28.10.2024 Mr. H Gupta, learned counsel for the writ petitioner has produced a copy of the Notification dated 08.08.2024 which goes to show that the request made by the petitioner to allow him to go on voluntary retirement has been accepted. Accordingly, the petitioner has retired from service w.e.f. 30.06.2024. Since, the primary grievance of the petitioner expressed in this writ petition has now been redressed, Mr. Gupta, learned counsel for the writ petitioner, therefore, submits that this writ petition be closed with a direction to the authorities to release the retirement dues of the petitioner as payable as per the Rules. Mr. R Dhar, learned standing counsel, PWD, Assam is present and submits that the dues payable to the petitioner in accordance with law shall be cleared without any undue delay. This writ petition, therefore, stands closed by providing that the retirement dues, as payable to the petitioner as per law, be released without undue delay. If the petitioner remains aggrieved in the matter, even thereafter, it would be open for him to approach this Court once again, by filing appropriate proceeding.
