The National Insurance Company Ltd v. Mrs Farida Begum and 2 Ors

ORDER Date : 11.05.2024 The case is put up before the National Lok Adalat today. The appellant Insurance Company is represented by its Regional Manager, namely, Ms. Mary Pegu. The respondent/claimant Mrs. Farida Begum is personally present before the Court today. This case is amicably settled between the parties at an amount of Rs.16,63,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Lakhs Sixty Three Thousand). Out of the total agreed amount, the Insurance Company had already deposited an amount of Rs.7,13,000/- to the Registry of this Court which already been withdrawn by the claimant. As per the terms of settlement reached between the parties today, the remaining amount of Rs. 9,50,000/- shall have to be paid by the Insurance Company. Same shall be deposited to the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this order. On such deposit, the Registry shall disburse the said amount to the claimant Mrs. Farida Begum after proper verification of her identity as well as verification of her bank details. This case is accordingly disposed of. The statutory deposit made by the appellant shall be returned back to the appellant. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
