Ms. Gayatree Hazarika, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, submits that in pursuance of the directions passed by this Court vide order, dated 11.02.2021, in WP(c)767/2020; the ex-gratia amount as receivable by the petitioner, herein, has since been released to her by the District Commissioner, Dhubri, vide order, dated 08.12.2022, and accordingly, she submits that the directions having been complied with; the instant contempt petition may be closed.

It is seen that this Court had directed the respondent authorities vide order, dated

11.02.2021, passed in WP(c)767/2020, to carry-out an inquiry and thereafter, on examination of the claims of the petitioner involved therein, to release the ex-gratia payment to the next of the kin of the deceased, therein, in the light of the Government Notifications holding the field.

In the light of the order, dated 08.12.2022, the petitioner having been authorized the ex-gratia amount as payable on account of the death of her husband; the directions passed by this Court, vide order, dated 11.02.2021, in WP(c)767/2020; stands complied with and accordingly, the instant contempt petition is hereby closed.

The copy of the communication, dated 07.06.2024, as produced by Ms. Hazarika, learned counsel for the respondents, is kept as a part of the record and marked as 'X' for identification.
