Heard Mr. J.I. Borbhuiya, learned counsel for the writ petitioner. Also heard Mr. D. Gogoi, learned Standing Counsel, Forest Department, Assam, appearing for the official respondents. The order dated 19/08/2024 passed by the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment and Forest Department, Assam, has been assailed in this writ petition on the ground that the same has been issued in contravention of the directions contained in the order dated 01/05/2024 passed by this Court in WP(C) 2259/2024. Today, when the matter is called up, Mr. Gogoi has produced a copy of the order dated 04/11/2024, a perusal of which goes to show that the order dated 19/08/2024 has since been revoked. If that be so, there is no cause of action surviving in this writ petition for adjudication by this Court. Learned counsel for the parties have also agreed to the said proposition. In view of the above, by retraining a copy of the order dated 04/11/2024, this writ petition stands closed.
