Heard Mr. R. Dhar, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Mr. M. P. Goswami, learned Additional Public Prosecutor This interlocutory application has been filed praying for the amendment of the cause title in Bail Application No. 2989/2024 to implead the Central Bureau of Investigation as the party respondent in place of the State of Assam. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Dhar, that initially the case was investigated by the police. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the CBI and registered as Cyber P.S. CID Case No. 12/2024 under Sections 111(2)(b), 318(4), 316(2)/316(5) of BNS, read with Section 66 of the I.T. Act, and Section 21(1), (2), (3), and 23 of the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Act, 2019. He further submitted that the investigation of the connected matters has also been handed over to the CBI. On the other hand, Mr. Goswami, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, has raised no objection to the amendment of the cause title in connection with Bail Appln. No. 2989/2024, for impleading the CBI as the party respondent. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsels for both sides, the instant interlocutory application is allowed, directing the petitioner to amend the cause title of Bail Appln. No. 2989/2024 to implead the CBI as the party respondent in place of the State respondent. With the above observation, this interlocutory application stands disposed of.
