Heard Mr. B. Baruah, learned counsel for the appellant. We have also heard Mr. D. Nath, learned Standing Counsel, PWD, Assam as well as Mr. A. Chaliha, learned Standing Counsel, Finance Department, Assam and Mr. R.M. Das, learned Standing Counsel, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, appearing for the respondents. Pursuant to the time given by this Court on 03/06/2024, learned counsel for the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has filed an additional affidavit sworn by the Executive Engineer, Page No.# 3/3 PWD, Maibang, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, who is the respondent no. 5 in the present writ appeal. In the said affidavit, the deponent has stated that the appellant's pending bills shall be cleared within a period of 2 (two) months. The affidavit is filed on 10/06/2024. Learned counsel for the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has submitted that the respondent no. 5 is the authority to clear the pending bills of the appellant and he is also the authority to disburse the amount due to the appellant. Taking into consider the specific statement given by the respondent no. 5 in his affidavit filed on 10/06/2024, we are of the opinion that no further order is required to be passed in this writ appeal. However, the authorities shall take appropriate steps for clearing the pending bills of the appellant by 11/08/2024. With the above observations, the writ appeal stands disposed of.
