ORDER Date : 18-12-2024 Heard Mr. S.A.B. Khabir, learned counsel for the applicant. The instant application is preferred seeking impleadment of the following authority – 'Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, Head of Department of Additional Director General of Police, Bureau of Investigation [EO], Assam, Srimantapur, Guwahati' as a party-respondent.

¶2It is averred that the earlier incumbent holding the position of Additional Director General of Police, Bureau of Investigation [EO] Assam is no longer holding the said position and, thus, necessity has arisen to implead the present incumbent as the party-respondent in the connected contempt petition, Cont.Case[C] no. 251/2024.

¶3As the afore-mentioned authority is presently holding the position of the Head of Department of Additional Director General of Police, Bureau of Investigation [EO], Assam, the instant application stands allowed.

¶4The learned counsel for the applicant-petitioner shall submit an amended Cause-Title in terms of the Notification no. 79 dated 19.06.2023 within 3 [three] working days and on submission of the amended Cause-Title, the Registry to Page No.# 3/3 carry out the necessary corrections in the connected contempt petition as well as in the CIS.
