Heard Mr. A. Wahab, learned counsel for the applicant.

¶2This is an application for impleading the new incumbent, namely Mr. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, to the post of the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Dispur, Guwahati-06.

¶3The facts of the case is that the applicant had filed a contempt case being Contempt Case (Civil) No.676/2019 alleging that the respondents have not complied with the direction passed by this Court by order dated 19.02.2019, in WP(C) No.2547/2012. It appears that the contemnor No.1, Smt. Aruna Rajori, in the meantime, was transferred out from the post of Commissioner and Secretary and in her place, one Mr. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi has been posted. Accordingly, the applicant seeks impleadment of the new incumbent Mr. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi.

¶4It appears that the presence of the new incumbent to the subject post is necessary for the effective adjudication of the contempt petition. As such, Mr. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Dispur, Guwahati-06 is impleaded as Page No.# 4/4 respondent No.4 in the Contempt Case (Civil) No.676/2019.

¶5Applicant to submit amended cause title to the Registry for doing the needful.

¶6With the aforesaid direction and observation, the interlocutory application for impleadment stands disposed of.
