ORDER Date : 06-08-2024 Heard Mr. T. Tapak, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. R. Basar, learned State counsel representing respondent Nos. 1, 2 & 3 and Mr. T. Roleng, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 4.

¶2It is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondent No. 4 that his client had expired during the pendency of the present writ petition.

¶3Challenging the promotion of the respondent No. 4 to the post of Political Assistant this writ petition is filed.

¶4Mr. Tapak, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as the respondent No. 4 had, in the meantime, expired and the post of Political Assistant is still vacant and the petitioner had already filed a representation for consideration of his case for promotion, and the petitioner is qualified for promotion for the post of Political Assistant and therefore, he prays that this writ petition may be disposed of by directing the respondents more particularly, the respondent No. 3 to consider his representation.

¶4Such prayer has not been opposed by the learned State counsel, Ms. R. Basar.

¶5Considered the consensus at the Bar as well as considering the death of the respondent No. 4, the present writ petition stands disposed of directing the writ Page No.# 3/3 petitioner to file a fresh representation before the Deputy Commissioner, Yingkiong, the respondent No. 3 for consideration of his case for promotion.

¶6On such representation being filed by the petitioner, the same be considered in accordance with law and be disposed of by a speaking order. The entire exercise be carried out within a period of 6 (six) weeks.

¶7Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
