Judgment

O R D E R By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest amounts to the petitioner for the belatedly paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension at the rate of 6% per annum for 18 months of delayed payment in the light of the judgment passed by this Court on 23.10.2024 in W.P.No.30766 of 2024.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner who had joined the services of the respondent Corporation, had retired from service on 31.05.2024, however, the terminal benefits have been settled only on 02.12.2025. Therefore, the petitioner claimed interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and made representation to the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits, however, there is no response.

4.In view of the limited request made by the petitioner with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
