Case no.
WP 2023/2026

Judgment

ORDER This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 11.11.2024 and 10.12.2025, seeking for removal of the name of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" in the revenue records for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition and for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioner within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

¶2According to the petitioner, erroneously, patta for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition now stands in the name of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple". The petitioner had given representations on 11.11.2024 and 10.12.2025 requesting the respondent to remove the name of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" in the revenue records for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition. Since the said representations have not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.

¶3Mr. D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and would submit that the "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" as well as the HR&CE have not been arrayed as a party respondent in this writ petition.

¶4No prejudice would be caused to the respondent if the petitioner's representations, seeking for removal of the name of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" in the revenue records for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition and for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioner are considered on merits and in accordance with law after hearing the objections of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" and HR&CE as well as any other third party whom the respondent deems it fit to enquire within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

¶5This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representations.

¶6For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representations dated 11.11.2024 and 10.12.2025, seeking for removal of the name of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" in the revenue records for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition and for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioner within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after hearing the objections of "Arulmigu Sri Ponniamman Temple" and HR&CE as well as any other third party whom the respondent deems it fit to enquire

¶7Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. 28-01-2026 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes ab To
