Judgment
ORDER (Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) Read this order in continuation of and in conjunction with previous orders including order dated 05.06.2026.
2.We have heard Mr.M.Ravi, learned counsel for the contempt petitioner and Mr.N.Venkataraman, learned Additional Solicitor General for Mr.M.Santhanaraman, learned Senior Panel Counsel for the contemnors.
3.Mr.Ravi would firstly point out that the time frame as fixed by the Division Bench under its order dated 09.09.2025 has been violated. This argument is not available to the petitioner in light of the extension of time granted by this Court on 05.06.2026 in WMP.No.9339 of 2026 and WMP.No.23075 of 2026, for completion of disciplinary proceedings within six months from that date. Hence, time, till the 4th of December, 2026, is available to the respondents to complete the proceedings.
4.The second argument is that communication dated 19.05.2026 is in violation of the direction of this Court under paragraph 41(iii) of order dated
09.09.2025. Page3 of 5
5.We note that communication dated 19.05.2026 is only a show cause notice to which a reply has been filed on 27.06.2026. As it is for the authority to complete the proceedings in line with the directions under order dated
09.09.2025, within the extended time frame granted by the Court, it would be premature for us to assume that the final order passed would be in violation or in contempt of those directions.
6.Needless to say, it is always open to the petitioner to challenge the final order, as and when it is passed, in a manner known to law. Mr.Ravi seeks some more time to file detailed submissions to the show cause notice on merits, and the petitioner is permitted to do so, within a period of two (2) weeks from today.
7.With this, and as nothing further survives in this contempt petition, the same is closed. Connected Sub Applications are also closed. (A.S.M.,J.) (V.L.N.,J.) 02-07-2026 vs Page4 of 5 To
