Judgment

ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed praying for direction to the respondents to regularise the services of the petitioners in the post of Tutor/Assistant professors/Associate professors with effect from date of their initial appointment on contractual basis based upon their representations dated

22.1.2025, 21.4.2025 and 16.7.2025 and grant all consequential benefits such as seniority including arrears of pay with the time stipulated by this court

¶2In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

¶3The petitioners were initially appointed as Tutors/Senior Residents from 1996 onwards. They are continuing on a contractual basis for over two decades without interruption. Simillarly placed contractual faculty were regularised upto 2019, but the petitioners were excluded despite eligibility and existing vacancies. Hence, these writ petitions have been filed. Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 3rd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representations dated 22.1.2025, 21.4.2025 and 16.7.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

¶4In view of the limited request sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 22.1.2025, 21.4.2025 and 16.7.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶5With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
