Judgment

ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- "directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioners representation dated 28/10/2025 regarding Retirement and Terminal benefits in the light of the orders passed by the first respondent herein in GO (D) No. 609 Municipal Administration and water supplies (MC3) department dated

17.10.2025 with all consequential service and monetary benefits within a time frame as deem fit and proper by this Honble court."

¶2The petitioner's case is that she was initially appointed as a Sanitary Worker/Watchman with effect from 01.06.2004 at Sammanchai Panchayat (which was merged with the Corporation of Chennai on 25.10.2011) and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.03.2020. However, the terminal benefits have not been paid to the petitioner. The petitioner would submit that some similarly placed persons have already obtained favourable orders from this Court regarding their terminal benefits and regularisation of service. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation to the 2nd Page3 of 5 respondent on 28.10.2025 seeking payment of terminal benefits. However, to date, the petitioner's request has not been considered. Hence, the Writ Petition.

¶3Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

¶4Considering the limited request of the petitioner and also taking note of the fact that the relief claimed by the petitioner in the instant case has already been extended to some similarly placed persons, the Writ Petition is allowed. The 2nd respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025 seeking terminal benefits, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
