G.Devarajan v. The Principal Secretary

Order (Order of the Court was made by The Chief Justice) This review petition has been filed with a prayer to review the order dated 22.01.2026, whereby costs of Rs.1,00,000/- has been imposed on the petitioner for filing frivolous petition.

¶2Though there is no merit in the review petition, considering the fact that the petitioner is an advocate clerk and he expresses difficulty in paying such a huge amount, we are of the considered opinion that the costs imposed on the petitioner be reduced to Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) from Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only).

¶3Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to deposit costs of Rs.10,000/- payable to the Tamil Nadu Legal Services Authority, Chennai within a period of ten days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
