ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 9.12.2024 and to shift the High Tension Electricity wires away from the his patta lands.

¶2It is the case of the petitioner that he purchased land measuring an extent of Acre 1.33 cents in S.No.13, situated at Erumaiyur Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk Kanchipuram District vide a sale deed, dated 18.08.2006. He has also obtained patta for the said property. The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent Department has now installed High Tension electric towers in such a manner that the High Tension wires pass directly above his land.

¶3The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner submitted a representation dated 09.12.2024 for shifting the high tension electric towers, however, no action has been taken so far.

¶4The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the TANGEDCO is not the competent authority to shift the High Tension transmission lines and that the competent authority is the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO). Page3 of 4

¶5In view of the above submissions, this Court directs the petitioner to submit an appropriate application before the competent authority within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the competent authority shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter.
