¶2The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents strongly opposed the grant of extension of time to the petitioners and has also filed a counter statement. It is the specific submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the order was pronounced on

27.02.2026 and, if at all the petitioners intended to prefer an appeal, they could have very well filed the same before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India immediately. He also would contend that, on the ground of filing an appeal before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the petitioners cannot seek for extension of surrender time.

¶3On the very same line, the learned counsel appearing for the intervenor reiterated and objected for extension of time.

¶4However, it is the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners that the order was uploaded only on 02.03.2026, which is evident from the order itself.

¶5This Court, on perusal of the order, finds that the order was uploaded on 02.03.2026 at about 03.12.29 p.m. It is an admitted position that, from that day onwards, the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India was in Holi holidays.

¶6Though the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that urgent matters could be mentioned before the Hon'ble Supreme Court by virtue of the circular dated 29.11.2025, on a perusal of the said circular, it appears that the same does not specifically deal with the Holi holidays. As stated supra, admittedly, between 02.03.2026 and 07.03.2026, the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India was on Holi holidays. Thus, in view of the above peculiar circumstances, this Court is inclined to extend the time for surrender mentioned in para 27 of the order dated 27.02.2026, from 06.03.2026 to 13.03.2026.

¶7Apart from the above, as prayed by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, and by considering the sensitivity of the issue, this court deems it appropriate to impose condition upon the petitioners to appear and sign before the concerned Court at 10.30. a.m. from 09.06.2026 to 13.03.2026.

¶8It is made clear that the extension and this direction are applicable only to the petitioners in these miscellaneous petitions.
