ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a departmental enquiry against the 6th respondent and cancel her compassionate appointment.
¶2The case of the petitioner is that her father E.Swaminathan, who was working as Union Supervisor in Sembanar Koil Panchayat Union, Mayiladuthurai District, died on 10.06.2021 leaving behind his wife, his mother, the petitioner, and the 6th respondent. According to the petitioner, the 6th respondent forged her signature, prepared fake documents and obtained compassionate appointment. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents 1 to 5 seeking departmental enquiry against the 6th Page2 of 5 respondent and cancellation of the appointment, but no action was taken. Hence, the present writ petition was filed.
¶3After hearing both sides and examining the records, this Court found that the 6th respondent had already been appointed through proceedings dated
28.07.2023. The record also shows that the petitioner had earlier sent a letter dated 24.11.2022 to the third respondent, indicating that she was aware of her sister's application for compassionate appointment. However, the petitioner neither approached the Court at that time nor challenged the appointment after it was granted. Further, she had not even made any application for compassionate appointment for herself.
¶4Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. 24-04-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order MRP Page3 of 5 To
