ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second and third respondents to provide three phase low tension electrical energy upto 110 kv situated in Survey Nos.144/2B, 145/1C, 145/2B to the extent of 8 acres 42 cents in Kamaneri Village, Vallinokkam Group, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District as per the petitioner's application reference No.200053550226104 dated 26.02.2026 for the purpose of prawn farming to the petitioner's Acqua farm.

¶2Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.

¶3It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner had acquired the land measuring to an extent of 8 acres 42 cents out of 19.5 acres in Kamaneri Village, Vallinokkam Group, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District owned by SSK and SKY Corporation through a registered lease for the purpose of Page3 of 5 acqua farm by utilising the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana Scheme, which was also approved and funds were sanctioned for prawn farming by the first respondent vide proceedings dated 06.08.2023 and 22.12.2025. However, electricity service connection was refused by the second and third respondents on the ground that there is no separate patta for the subject area of petitioner's farm and also that there is already service connection in the name of the original owners. Aggrieved by the same, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

¶4The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has acquired the property through a registered lease for the purpose of the acqua farm which is a separate entity and therefore, denial of service connection by the second and third respondent is unsustainable. He further submitted that there may be a direction to the second and third respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.02.2026 within a reasonable time.

¶5In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents 2 & 3 to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.02.2026 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
