Judgment
ORDER This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to acquire the remaining unacquired land in S.Nos.1693/13 and 1693/15 situated at Mylapore Village, Mylapore Taluk, Chennai District measuring 446.0 sq.mt (4799 sq.ft.) and award compensation in line with the compensation awarded to the petitioner towards the acquisition of land in R.S.Nos.1693/4 and 1693/7 situated at Mylapore Village, Mylapore Taluk, Chennai District within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶2The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that eventhough the respondents acquired a larger extent of the land belonging to the petitioner, they have failed to acquire the balance portion of 446.0 sq.mt (4799 sq.ft.) belonging to the petitioner. The petitioner claims that in view of the same, the balance extent has now become unusable as it has now become land-locked. The petitioner had given a representation on 28.08.2025 to the respondents, requesting the respondents to acquire the aforesaid extent of 446.0 sq.mt (4799 sq.ft.) from the petitioner. According to the petitioner, till date, no final order has been passed by the first respondent on the petitioner's representation.
¶3Mr. B. Vijay, learned standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr. Vadivelu Deenadayalan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3.
¶4No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law after giving due consideration to the supporting documents filed by the petitioner within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
¶5This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.
¶6For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 28.08.2025, requesting the respondents to acquire the remaining extent of land belonging to the petitioner measuring 446.0 sq.mt (4799 sq.ft.) morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after giving due consideration to the supporting documents filed by the petitioner.
¶7Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 21-04-2026 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes ab To
