Judgment

ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.11.2025.

¶2The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the land and structure in S.No.109/8A1A, Kathazhai Village, Cuddalore District, which was acquired by NLC India Ltd. via a Notification dated 10.04.2017, following which a final Award No.2/2024-A was passed on Page2 of 5

22.05.2024. While the property compensation was paid, statutory resettlement benefits (allotment of a 3-cent alternative house site) were not granted. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.11.2025 to the 4th respondent. However, the same has not been considered till date. Challenging this inaction, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

¶3The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that based on the representation dated 10.11.2025, the respondents have already commenced enquiry proceedings on 05.01.2026, and the same are currently in progress. Therefore, he sought six (6) weeks' time to dispose of the petitioner's representation.

¶4Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs respondents 1 to 4 to complete the enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and affording him an opportunity for a personal hearing, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.11.2025. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Page3 of 5
