Judgment

ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2025 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

¶2The case of the petitioner is that she is one of the co-owners and legal heirs of late Duraisamy Naidu, who derived title under a registered Will executed by the petitioner's grandfather, late Swaminatha Naidu. The petitioner's father was in possession and enjoyment of the property along with the family. During the petitioner's absence, the fourth respondent allegedly effected a wrongful mutation of the revenue records and obtained Patta No. 128 in respect of the property measuring 0.54 cents in S.No.115, Vattampakkam Village, Kundrathur Taluk. Aggrieved by the illegal mutation, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.05.2025 seeking cancellation of the patta. Since the authorities failed to conduct an enquiry or take action on the representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition. Page3 of 6

¶3Ms.Inthu Karunakaran, learned Government Counsel appearing for the official respondents, submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated

14.05.2025 would be considered by the 2nd respondent and appropriate orders would be passed thereon, on merits within a period of eight (8) weeks, after issuing notice to the legal heirs of the 4th respondent.

¶4Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2025. The 2nd respondent shall pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the legal heirs of the 4th respondent and affording them an opportunity of a personal hearing.

¶5With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 28-07-2026 Asi Page4 of 6 To
